Privacy Policy

1. Our Data Philosophy: Data Minimization

Household routines, family member names, and personal schedules are sensitive personal details. ChoreMatrix collects only the minimum information necessary to calculate balanced household workload allocations.

2. What We Collect

  • Account & Authentication: Email address and password hash (managed securely via Supabase Auth).
  • Household Configuration: Household label/name, type (e.g. couple, family, roommates), and optimization mode.
  • Household Member Details: Nicknames or labels, household roles, weekly available minutes, and unavailable days.
  • Task Information: Chore names, categories, estimated durations, effort ratings (1–5), fixed days, and eligibility tags.
  • Generated Plans: Calculated schedules, fairness diagnostic scores, and assignment reason codes.
  • Client Preferences: Light/Dark theme selection and UI view preferences stored locally in your browser.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

To protect your household privacy, ChoreMatrix does not collect or request:

  • No exact home street addresses or GPS location.
  • No phone numbers or contact book integration.
  • No government-issued identification.
  • No exact dates of birth for children.
  • No photos, video feeds, or biometric identifiers.
  • No microphone or camera permissions.
  • No financial account or payment card numbers (payment processing is not currently enabled).

4. How We Use Information

  • To authenticate and maintain your secure login session.
  • To run deterministic workload optimization algorithms on your household inputs.
  • To preserve your saved households and weekly plans across sessions.
  • To provide explainability diagnostics and differential rebalancing when constraints change.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell personal data to data brokers or advertising networks. We share data solely with the infrastructure providers essential for running the service:

  • Supabase Inc. — Managed authentication and PostgreSQL database hosting with strict Row Level Security.
  • Vercel Inc. — Static frontend application hosting, edge CDN caching, and TLS termination.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your household data is retained as long as your account remains active. You can export a complete JSON snapshot of all your household records or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the Account Security dashboard.

7. Regulatory Disclosures

ChoreMatrix provides universal rights to access, rectify, export, and delete personal data regardless of your jurisdiction. We do not make unsubstantiated regulatory certification claims. Self-serve export and deletion tools are available anytime in Account Settings; an operational inquiry channel will be published upon general commercial availability.
